Maths | We will continue with our sorting journey and working on the simple sorting skills we have developed so far to now explore different sorting techniques. We will explore how to sort objects in alternative ways and using more than one attribute e.g. big and round. We will explore and demonstrate different sorting rules and try to come up with our own. We will explore collections containing one incorrect item so that we can spot the odd one out and. As we develop our sorting skills we will introduce comparing sets of objects specifically, and the use of language ‘more’ and ‘less’. All of this alongside our usual number and problem solving activities. | Continue to develop your child’s functional maths skills in a variety of ways at home.
Play a matching game.
Bake a cake – think about the ingredients, which do I use more or less of?
Have a go at sorting your own toys to your own criteria, could be by size, colour, how many legs etc.
