Sheringham Woodfields sports week took place w/c 13th of May with loads of exciting sports on offer for the pupils to experience. Monday saw football on the astro-turf with Pav – Funball Football Company. This session gave the student’s time to experience new skills to learn and show off some of their own.

Wednesday we had to sessions running Cromer tennis club returned to coach and help teach the pupils some tennis skills. Pupils from throughout the school really enjoyed these sessions.

Also on the Wednesday, we had Dance with Premier dance. This session gave our pupils a chance to express themselves in either making up a dance routine or just using different ribbons or other item they had to use.

In the hall on Thursday, we had archery with Premier sports. We have a session of archery each yeah as this is such an inclusive sport for all the pupils to access.

On Friday saw our older students attend the Adult disability festival with Active Norfolk. This day gave our students an opportunity to try loads of sports throughout the day.

The whole week was a fantastic week for our pupils to enjoy, participate and experience new and familiar sports.

    Sheringham Shoal Community Fund

We are pleased to hear from the Norfolk Community Foundation that we have been successful in securing £2196.00 from the Sheringham Shoal Fund. The money will be added to the £500 already set aside by the school to purchase new science curriculum resources to support the teaching and delivery of renewable energy, sustainability and the weather. This is great news for the school and will enable items such as solar panel kits, Mindstorm Lego packs and Knex sets to be purchased in the coming weeks.
Thank you from everyone at Sheringham Woodfields School

    Sheringham Woodfields is Outstanding!

We are all delighted with our recent Outstanding judgement, it’s a just reward for all the hard work and dedication of our staff, governors, the professionals who support us, parents, carers and obviously the fantastic children in our school.

Though the two days were tough, our inspectors were very thorough but fair.

The Governors and Leadership team have great confidence in our staff and my pep talk to staff the night before was very simple “just do what you do every day!”

For the two days the atmosphere in school was really positive and all staff and students were able to show our school at its very best.

Something that was really evident to the inspectors was the wonderful care provided by our staff.

“The very supportive and caring ethos provided by highly skilled staff”

“Relationships between staff and pupils are a major strength of the school. Staff treat pupils with respect and dignity at all times.”

Success for our pupils is a partnership between school and parents and carers and so it was really pleasing to see the responses from parents were so positive

“All parents spoken to during the inspection or who responded to Ofsted’s online questionnaire, Parent View, spoke in glowing terms about the support that they and their child receive at school.”

Our pupils have a very wide range of abilities and needs and so we work hard to achieve the best for all by treating them as individuals, again this was recognised throughout the inspection as

“Leaders have a dynamic and flexible approach to the curriculum which is highly responsive to pupils’ individual needs.”

“Pupils are well prepared for life beyond school, which underpins the school’s whole approach”

  • 1940’s Weekend

    1940’s Weekend

    1940’s at Woodfields Den on 14.09.18 – 16.09.18

Woodfields Den celebrated along with the thousands of locals and tourists that visited the Town of Sheringham over the 1940’s weekend.

Staff and Volunteers dressed up for the occasion and helped raise lots of money for the school by opening on Sunday as an extra.

We also had the luxury of Maureen (Alice Marrs Nan) raising money with her fabulous home knitted and crocheted items that she had been busy creating for the fundraising table that she ran over this weekend. Students made and designed Maureen some posters for her stall. A grand total of £507.00 for the sale of her items plus the donation pot on her table raised an extra amazing £13.00.

A Big Thank you to Maureen for her hard work and dedication to our school.
