Communication and Interaction at Sheringham Woodfields School
At Sheringham Woodfields School we believe that every pupil has a voice and should be given maximum opportunity for communication. We do this through a ‘Total Communication’ approach. We have a holistic view of communication, often using a range of modalities or even thinking “outside the box” to create a system of communication that works for an individual.
Total Communication (TC) is an approach to communicating that aims to make use of a number of modes of communication including: speech, signing, on body-signing, visual aids including symbols, pictures and photos, facial expressions, gesture and speech generated devices.
